Our regular showroom clients have already seen the samples, some have already specified these great rugs, but today we are pleased to officially announce our Flatweave program. First up in the spotlight, Sumac Stripes.  Joseph Carini distills all that’s wonderful about the flat-weave into his sleek, casual Sumac Stripes. Hand-spun Himalayan wool is either left sheep-hued or dyed with exotic natural botanical potions and masterfully woven in these or any custom configuration of flat or contrasting high-pile stripes.  These gorgeous flatweaves are an amzing value in fine carpets, starting at $20 per square foot. Check them out at the showroom, or call us for a sample at 646.613.0497.

Crewel Beauty: fall’s hottest trend

Suzani by Joseph Carini celebrates crewel work.
Suzani by Joseph Carini celebrates crewel work.

Joseph Carini created the Suzani rug, inspired by classic Suzani crewel work, long before the ancient embroidery technique became a hot trend for Fall in fashion and interiors. Most crewelwork is very colorful, but Suzani celebrates the form by taking the bright color away. An all-wool carpet, Suzani is crafted of wool that is the natural color of the sheep – both white sheep and brown. If it looks familiar, maybe that’s because it is featured in Carini Lang’s ads this season in ELLE Decor and VERANDA. Designed by Joseph Carini and avaialble at Carini Lang, 335 Greenwich Street, NYC http://www.carinilang.com
